Blessington lake has produced some good fish in recent days. One fish over 20lb and another over 25lb took static dead baits at Valleymount on Saturday. Another 20lb pike was taken on Wednesday 2nd January at Baltyboys on a sardine dead bait. Some anglers reported fish running with dead baits and then dropping them.
A good number of anglers have been fishing Lough Ramor since Christmas from both the shore and by boat. Some good doubles have been taken by the shore on static dead baits, Joey mackerel seem to work well. Two fish have been reported to have been caught over the 20lb mark from both angers fishing deadbaits under floats.
A good number of anglers also have fished this lake from the shore in recent days. We are not aware of any 20's been landed yet but some low doubles have been reported.
One angler fishing Parkers Lake county Cavan reported reasonable bream fishing in spite of the time of year.
