Wicklow is a beautiful county just 20kms from Dublin. Anglers are welcome to enjoy the excellent angling facilities in Co. Wicklow, known as ‘The Garden of Ireland’. As well as the game fishing available on the Avoca, Avonmore and in Aughrim, Wicklow boasts a number of well managed put and take fisheries to cater for the requirements of experienced and novice anglers alike.
Bye-law No. 824, 2007 prohibits the use of any fish hooks, other than single barbless hooks, and the use of worms as bait in angling for all species of fish in the Rivers Avoca,
Owenavorragh and
Slaney.
