Trout Fishing Report

Corkagh Park Report – May 7th 2007

The carp lake has been fishing exceptionally well with Alexandru Manac in his last three visits capturing no less than 30 carp. Newcomer Keith Fitzpatrick has had 17 carp in his last three visits. Harry Kilpatrick has also had 16 carp over the last three visits. The average size of the carp are 9lb but Alexandru reckons he lost one the guts of 16lbs today (May 9th).

The Trout lake has been hot and cold in recent weeks. Best results in the evening with an exceptional rise on the lake most evenings. There's been a lot of very large trout caught and lost and Paddy Mcloughlin from Rory's Fishing Tackle shop has had his fair share of big doubles. Most fish are being caught on either Buzzers or dry flies with May flies and Daddies and Hoppers next most popular.
