The Circular Line has good stocks of tench particularly from the Parnell Road stretch to the 7th Lock at Portobello. Pike and roach are also present. Catches up to 20lb are regularly taken by anglers using a small waggler with maggot or sweetcorn on a log pole – short line. The local angling club is very active and runs regular matches mid-week during the summer evenings and all anglers are welcome to enter.
