Royal Canal (Ballybough,Dublin City)

Click on thumbnail for full size map

This stretch of the canal has recently been developed and a new local club is very active in the area. Some good catches of roach can be taken on float tackle using bread punch or maggots. The Croke Park stretch produces some nice catches of bream and tench particularly in early summer mornings. The clear water conditions can make fishing difficult at times. Fishing is recommended from a swim with cover i.e. a tree. Pike to 10lbs area available along this stretch.

Location

Locks 1 – 2, Ballybough, Dublin City.
